With a New Career Life and Transition, Comes New Hope

from:

One of the most important things you should consider is your career life. As early as teens, individuals are already being prepared to find a career that most suit them. It’s their parents and their teachers who try to guide them in choosing the right job for them. However, often times they still can’t figure out what career is really right for them. That is why we hear a lot of stories of people who suddenly change their profession or careers after being in their job for several years. Thus career life and transition is a crucial thing that you should be aware of.

Career life and transition is not an unusual thing. There have been increased job and/or career changes due to several reasons. Career life and transition can also be a forced one and not initiated by the individual. These circumstances can be due to technological changes, re-engineering, down sizing of a company or uncertainties of economy among many other things. On the other hand, the change brought about the decision of an individual is often a result of developmental stages in life. It’s when you realize that your career life and transition are getting closer that you lose your satisfaction and enjoyment in the work you do. You are always tired at work. You begin to hate having to get up in the morning to go to work.

For whatever reason, be it your company, your colleagues, the industry you are in, or your job role itself, you begin to get stressed with your current job and start thinking of quitting. Your knowledge with career life and transition will then help you go about this struggle. If you know the steps to take in career life and transition then you can save a lot of time and money from staying in a job that you do not love and do not enjoy.

You should always be prepared in case you find yourself in a career life and transition situation. You’ll never know when you will face such circumstances. As early as now, focus on your career. Are you happy with your current job? Do a self discovery and list down all the things that you love to do and the things that you do best. Are they aligned to your current work? This will help you not only find out if you need to change careers but will also help you discover the other skills and abilities that you have.

Write down all the skills that your colleagues and friends like about you. At the same time, list the skills that you are proud of. As you write down these talents of yours, you will come to realize the various possible jobs that you can take. Career life and transition can be a long process but this will help you get started.
